Arthur Robertson
Western Reiki master credited with founding Raku Kei Reiki and with introducing the Tibetan symbol Dumo into Western Reiki practice.
Lineage. Arthur Robertson was a Reiki master trained by Iris Ishikuro, herself a student (and reportedly a cousin) of Hawayo Takata. From Ishikuro he received the Usui system and a Tibetan-influenced method, which he developed further and began teaching in the mid-1980s.
Known for. He is credited with founding Raku Kei Reiki, a system blending Usui Reiki with Tibetan techniques such as the Violet Breath. He is associated with bringing Tibetan symbols into Western practice — including Dumo, also called the Tibetan Dai Ko Myo — which were later adopted by other Reiki styles. Teaching at accessible fees, he helped Reiki spread widely.
Little verifiable biographical detail beyond his Reiki work is publicly documented.
