Brahma

The Hindu creator god of the Trimurti.

Brahma is the creator god of Hinduism, the first of the Trimurti — the trinity of Brahma (creation), Vishnu (preservation), and Shiva (dissolution). From Brahma, in myth, the universe and all beings are brought forth. He is often depicted with four faces, gazing in the four directions, and four arms holding the Vedas, symbolizing sacred knowledge.

His qualities. Creativity, the bringing-forth of life, and the wisdom of the Vedas — the generative power behind all that exists.

In energy practice. Practitioners may honour Brahma when beginning new creative endeavours, seeking inspiration, or contemplating the creative principle of the cosmos.

Honouring Brahma is a faith- and intention-based spiritual practice drawn from a living tradition — offered for reflection and reverence.
