Goddess Gayatri

Gāyatrī is the Vedic goddess who embodies the sacred Gāyatrī Mantra — one of the most revered verses of the Hindu tradition, a prayer to the divine light of the sun (Savitr) to illuminate the mind. Often called the "Mother of the Vedas," she is the personification of this holy chant and of the awakening wisdom it invokes.

Her qualities. Sacred sound, illumination of the intellect, purity, and the awakening of spiritual understanding. She is sometimes depicted with five faces and many arms, holding the symbols of knowledge.

In practice. Devotees recite the Gāyatrī Mantra, especially at dawn, to clear and brighten the mind and invite divine wisdom; practitioners may invoke her for mental clarity, study, and spiritual illumination.
