Higher Self / Oversoul
The eternal, wisest aspect of one's own being.
The Higher Self — sometimes called the Oversoul — is the eternal, wisest aspect of one's own being: the part of you that remains connected to Source, beyond the everyday personality and the chatter of the thinking mind. Where the ego is shaped by fear and circumstance, the Higher Self is steady, loving, and clear, holding the larger view of your life and purpose.
A bridge to the Divine. Many traditions describe the Higher Self as the meeting point between the human and the sacred — the inner voice of intuition and conscience, and the channel through which guidance, inspiration, and grace flow. To "raise your consciousness" is, in this view, to align the personality with the Higher Self.
In self-attunement. This is the part of you that consciously and willingly reaches out to receive. The personality does not generate the sacred energy; it opens the door, while the Higher Self — together with the Divine — carries the deeper work.
In practice. Practitioners cultivate this connection through stillness, meditation, and sincere intention, learning to pause, listen, and let the wiser self take the lead.
The Higher Self is your own innermost wisdom — nearer than breath, and always available when you grow quiet enough to hear it.
