Lakshmi

लक्ष्मी

Hindu goddess of abundance, prosperity, and grace.

Lakshmi (लक्ष्मी) is the Hindu goddess of abundance, prosperity, beauty, and grace — consort of Vishnu and one of the most cherished deities of the tradition. She bestows both material and spiritual wealth: not only fortune, but the inner riches of love, dignity, and well-being.

Her symbolism. She is depicted seated or standing on a blooming lotus — purity rising from the mud — often with gold coins flowing from her hand and elephants attending her, signs of abundance and royal grace.

In practice. Practitioners honour Lakshmi for prosperity and abundance, for beauty and harmony in the home, and for the grace to receive life's blessings with gratitude — often with the mantra Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namaha.

Honouring Lakshmi is a faith- and intention-based spiritual practice drawn from a living tradition — offered for reflection and reverence.
