Universal Life Force Energy
The boundless source energy a Reiki practitioner channels and directs.
Universal Life Force Energy is the boundless, animating energy that a Reiki practitioner channels — the same idea named ki in Japan, qi (chi) in China, and prana in India. It is understood as the living current of creation itself, flowing through all things and sustaining all life.
The energy behind Reiki. The word Reiki joins rei (universal, sacred) and ki (life force): "universal life-force energy." A practitioner does not generate this energy from their own reserves but acts as a clear channel through which it flows to wherever it is needed.
Always available. A central teaching is that this energy is ever-present and freely accessible — it does not run out and is never the practitioner's personal possession. The more freely it is allowed to flow to others, the more strongly it is felt.
Felt, not forced. When this life force flows freely, a person is said to feel balanced and vital; when it feels depleted or blocked, they may feel low or unwell. Energy work invites the flow to return.
Universal Life Force Energy is a traditional, experiential concept — a lens for relaxation, balance, and wellbeing rather than a measured medical mechanism.
